Pointlessness, Football and mood swings

My last deadline of the calendar year was on Friday. Got it all handed in with only minor fear of not being able to do it. So, basically, I'm done with uni until after christmas. No deadlines, and I've done all of the lectures. I'm gonna get some Audio work done though. So it seems pretty pointless me being here at the moment.

Me and Kingsley actually managed to win the tournament on Sega Worldwide Soccer 97! We were chuffed. It was a good day. I reckon we should now get hold of Sega Worldwide Soccer 98...Brian bought Pro Evo 08 today, so i played a bit of that too...good game.

My general mood has been a bit all over the place at the moment. Until Friday I was pretty stressed with all the stupid work I had to do. Since then I've either been pretty down or quite jolly. Never neutral. Sucks. But I'll get by, not long now until I get to go back to Telford! Can't wait, getting pretty sick of Lincoln to be honest.

Anyway, bit of a self indulgent rambling blog today, but thought I might as well do one as it's been a while.

Time Flies...

Went back to Telford this weekend. It was really good to see everyone that I saw. The only problem is that it went far too quickly. Friday night to Monday afternoon flew by like it was a couple of hours. I'm really looking forward to going back again in a few weeks. Lincoln has become slightly stressful lately, with all the uni work and the lack of money to partake in social activities. Being at home was a bit of a relief.

Everything should be better after Friday. Last deadline before christmas, then I can relax a bit more and hopefully get some kind of employment on the go. Although part of me wants to stay unemployed so that I can definitely go home for the full christmas holiday. But on the other hand I really do need some money.

Got all my editing done for my Radio documentary, which was good. I quite enjoyed it really, I like cutting "ummm"s out of things. Feel quite satisfied with what I've done. Should be meeting with my Producer tomorrow to get the final edit done, then I can work on the written piece...something that I am absolutely dreading...a 1000 word essay on Documentaries. Seems pretty irrelevant to an Audio Technology course, no? Ah well, gotta do what I gotta do. But, as I say, once that's handed in on Friday, it's smooth sailing until after christmas.

So, roll on December 17th so I can blow this joint and chill with my West Midlands peeps!

Uni work, Football and unhealthy sleeping patterns

It's been quite a week! I've been spending a lot of time doing uni work, more time than last year for sure...which I suppose is a positive thing, although it's had me absolutely knackered! Had to do a 10 minute presentation for Radio today! Was a pisstake! but I got a borderline 2:2/2:1 so that's good!

In the free time that I've had in the past two days I've been playing Sega Worldwide Soccer '97 on the Sega Saturn with Kingsley and Dave. Quality stuff! We keep getting to the semis on Worldwide Tournament mode but we just can't seem to crack it! But as Kingsley quite rightly tweeted "One day we will be world champions!"

A negative effect of the workload combined with playing a lot of Sega is that I've been sleeping waaay too much! It's getting to an almost unhealthy state, but I reckon it's just because I'm mentally exhausted from all the presentations and stuff I've been doing. I'm off to Telford next weekend so that'll be nice, although I do have a 1000 word essay to write about Documentaries. It's a joke. But, I'll get by!

The thing I really have to remember is if I get a cold do NOT, under any circumstances, get royally pissed up! That didn't work out to well last time....

Munsters, Vinyl and nostalgic music

My god 'The Munsters' is one of the greatest shows ever created! I've been watching it quite a lot for the past few days and I think it must be one of the most underrated and easily forgotten TV shows of all time! Even today it's hilarious not to mention good old fashioned clean fun. No filth. Apart from in the first episode of season 2 when Lily Munster calls a Bear who Herman is dancing with a Hussy. That's just gold.

I've also been buying some new vinyl, so that's been good. I got 'Private Dancer' by Tina Turner, The Carpenters single collection, a Dubliners album, My Fair Lady (one of the single greatest resources for awesome cockney accents) and today I got 'The Name Of The Band Is The Talking Heads' by The Talking Heads. My Vinyl collection is definitely getting much better!

As many of you no doubt noticed, last night was Bonfire Night. Kingsley and Dave put on a lovely fireworks display and made mulled wine etc. It was a really good night and I spent a few hours between about half 10 and 2 looking up nostalgic music from the 1990s. Some real classics of my childhood. For example, 'Every Morning' by Sugar Ray and 'Roll to me' by Del Amitri. These two I highly recommend for a trip down memory lane!

Anyways, that's what I've been up to for the last couple of days. What have you been up to? Maybe you should put it in a blog. Then when people ask you you can just tell them to check your blog and you don't have to repeat the same old tired shit over and over.

Blog 4: Halloween, Hospital Massacres and Unemployment

Last night was possibly the most boring Halloween I have ever encountered! Although I had a pretty good time with my one man mini horror movie marathon I didn't start until about 9. I watched Scream 3, Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and Dracula: Prince of Darkness. It was good, but I'd much rather have costumed up and gone out on the piss.

Today has been equally as boring. I played GTA IV for an hour or so but just spent the entire time shooting up a hospital. It was after about an hour of this that I decided it was time to do something else...so here we are.

All of these problems stem from one thing, unemployment. If I had a job I would have been able to afford to go out last night and I would have probably been at work today so I wouldn't have to spend my time slaying innocent people in A&E. It's not even through lack of trying, I have applied to many a place! Just seems like no-one is interested. Although Brian has had 2 interviews and even Dengate has had one! I did get a call from phones 4 u but I couldn't go to the interview because of uni. Apparently there should be another position available in a couple of weeks and they're going to get in contact with me about that.

So it's not all bad. Plus, if I had a job, I wouldn't be able to sleep until 1:30pm like I did today...so, y'know, every cloud......
